Man assaults daughter

SHIKARPUR, May 7: A man criminally assaulted his 16-year-old daughter in Gharibabad Mohalla in the limits of Lakhi Gate police station on Tuesday.

According to an FIR registered on Wednesday, Shamsuddin Soomro forcibly took his daughter to a room in his house, bolted the door on inside and criminally assaulted her.

On her cries, her mother and other family members woke up, broke the door and rescued the girl. Shamsuddin escaped from the place.

Lakhi Gate police have registered an FIR against Shamsuddin on the complaint of the mother of the victim.

Later, police arrested the accused and sent the girl to Civil Hospital for medical check-up.
