Kidnapped girls recovered

SUKKUR, May 7: Two minor girls kidnapped about 45 days ago, were recovered on Wednesday morning after an encounter with the police near RD-36 in the jurisdiction of Bhittai colony police station located in border area of Sindh and Balochistan.

According to the DPO of Kashmore, Mohammad Younis Chandio, the kidnapped girls Erum Naseerani and Tahira Noonari, were kept in a house at Sindh-Balochistan border area which was cordoned by a heavy contingent of police.

On seeing the police, the kidnappers opened fire which was returned. After exchange of heavy firing the kidnappers managed to escape, leaving behind Erum 3, daughter of Hafiz Mohammad Hassan Naseerani and Tahira, 5, daughter of Saeed Ahmed Noonari, who were later handed over to their parents.

Erum, Tahira and 11-year old boy Veeraj Kumar were kidnapped from Kandhkot on March 26 and, according to the DPO, since then the police raided many places. The girls were, however, recovered on Wednesday while efforts were being made to trace out Veeraj Kumar.
