GHALANAI (Mohmand Agen-cy), April 26: Three Taliban and four suspected criminals were killed and several others, including women and children, injured in a clash in the Dadukhel area of the Mohmand Agency on Saturday.

Assistant Political Agent Yakaghund Shahidullah Khan told Dawn that the casualties’ figure could be increased because firing which started in the evening continued till late night.

According to sources, people belonging to the local Taliban besieged a house where they alleged some 10 to 12 people were planning for some criminal activities.

An exchange of fire took place in which three people from Taliban’s side — one of them identified as Zahid Khan of Michni — and four from other side — two of them identified as Noor Sham and Amjad — were killed.

Rockets and Kalashnikovs were used in the fighting.
