NAUSHAHRO FEROZE, April 25: A heavy contingent of police of three police stations conducted joint raids on three villages and arrested six people, including a police head constable, for recovery of some kidnapped men on Friday.

Police of Mehrabpur, Khan Wahan and Mohabbat Dero police stations led by their SHOs raided village Baharo Mullo near Khan Wahan and arrested police head constable Mujahid Mari on suspicion that he had provided shelter to kidnappers.

Mujahid was posted at Mohabbat Dero police station. The police have impounded his motorcycle.

In other raid on village Qadir Bux Jarwar, near Kotri Kabir, police arrested Qazi Jarwar, Seengar and Ramzan.

The police also raided village Ghafoor Panjabi and arrested Aleem Khan and Sultan Punjabi.

The SHO of Khan Wahan police station, Mujtaba Almani, told reporters that the raids were conducted on the directives of the DIG police as several people were kidnapped from the area during the last six months.

He said a major of Rangers in Sukkur was kidnapped and another man, Akram Rajput, was kidnapped between Khan Wahan and Mehrabpur a few days ago.

The police also raided other villages on Thursday and arrested several suspects.

Police sources told reporters that Bachal Khaskheli group was involved in the kidnapping and police will arrest them within two to three days.

TRANSFERS: The DIG of Sukkur has transferred SPO Kandiaro, SPO Kamal Dero, SHO Lakha Road, SHO Kandiaro and other officers on Thursday.

Kandiaro SPO Fida Hussain Awan and Kamal Dero SPO Sardar Jatoi were directed to report to police lines while Kandiaro SHO Mushtaq Almani was transferred to CI (crime investigation) Naushahro Feroze.

Sub-Inspector Imdad Talpur was posted as SHO Kandiaro, Inspector Juma Khan Panhwar as SPO Kamal Dero and Fida Lahori as incharge of CI.

INJURED: Three people were injured in an accident in Kandiaro on Thursday night.

Naeem Soomro, Ahmed Mughal and Mohammad Ghanghro were injured when their motorcycles collided with a vehicle on the National Highway in Kandiaro.
