KHAIRPUR, April 21: A man axed his son and daughter to death and seriously injured his wife in Bhombhatpur village of Sobhodero taluka on Monday.

Villagers caught hold of Mohammad Bakar Samtio after he had killed his four-year-old daughter, Nirma, and six-year-old son, Abdul Qadeer, and seriously injured Ms Muradan, his wife.

They moved the injured to Ranipur Rural Health Centre and handed over Samtio to police. The motive behind the murders was the man’s suspicion his wife had an extra marital affair, said the villagers.

Khairpur DPO confirmed that the accused had been arrested.
