ISLAMABAD, April 17: A woman was murdered in her house here on Thursday while a man was killed in a road accident in Rawalpindi, police said.

The first incident occurred in a house located in F-7/1 where Ammara Asif, 30, was found murdered in the storeroom situated near her bedroom. She had received deep wounds on her forehead and hands from a blunt weapon which claimed her life.

The police quoted the deceased’s family as saying that Ammara went to her bedroom to sleep at around 3pm after giving her one-and-a-half-year-old son to her mother-in-law.

When a family member went to wake her up at around 7pm, the door of her bedroom was found locked. Despite repeated knocks on the door, there was no response from her, police quoted the family as saying.

The family members then informed her husband, a property dealer, who reached home and made efforts to wake her up. However after getting no response, he entered the room from the window which was open and found his wife lying in a pool of blood in the storeroom. He informed the area police who reached the spot and shifted the body to Pims.

The police said nothing was found missing from the room, and the woman’s gold ornaments had also not been removed.

They said the killer(s) entered the room from the window and later escaped from the same way.

Some carpenters and painters were busy working in the house at the time of the incident and left the place in the evening, the police said, adding that they were yet to be interrogated.

In another incident, Mohammad Deen was killed after his motorcycle crashed into a footpath on Rawal Road on Thursday.

Police said Mohammad Deen was heading towards Chaklala on his motorcycle when it veered off the road and crashed into a footpath, as a result of which he was critically injured.

However he died on reaching the hospital.

Meanwhile, Civil Lines police found a decomposed body of an unidentified man from Soan. The deceased is believed to have been killed and later his body was thrown at a deserted place.
