ISLAMABAD, April 13: A spokesman for the ministry of interior has described the comments published in Dawn in the column headlined “Amar Prem” by Anjum Niaz on Sunday as “absurd, fabricated and motivated”.

The spokesman denied the allegations that Mr Rehman Malik and Mr Hussain Haqqani destroyed the record of cases against them and Mr Asif Ali Zardari when they paid a visit to the NAB Headquarters.

The spokesman termed the allegations wild, contrary to facts and based on malafide intention to defame Co-Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party Asif

Ali Zardari, ambassador designate to the US Hussain Haqqani and Adviser to the Prime Minister on Interior A. Rehman Malik.

The spokesman said that neither Mr Malik nor Mr Haqqani had visited the offices of the NAB till date, a fact that could be verified from the NAB.
