Militant killed in Mand shootout

QUETTA, April 6: One militant was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Mand area of Turbat district on Sunday.

Another militant was injured and arrested.

Official sources said that the militants attacked a convoy passing through Mand, a small town near the Pakistan-Iran border.

Security forces retuned fire, killing one of the assailants and injuring another.

Other militants escaped.

“We have seized a huge quantity of arms and ammunition left behind by the militants,” FC sources said.

Meanwhile, four security personnel were injured when a landmine went off in Dera Bugti district.

Police sources said an official vehicle carrying security personnel had run over the landmine planted by militants.

The injured soldiers were admitted to a hospital in Sui.
