KARACHI, April 2: Three people, including a worker of the Muhajir Quami Movement (Haqiqi), were killed on Wednesday in different parts of the city, witnesses and police said.

Witnesses said the 22-year-old Haqiqi worker was shot dead late Tuesday night near his house in Landhi. They said Nadim Ayub was sitting outside his house when he was attacked and shot dead.

A leader of the MQM Haqiqi, Feroze Haider, told Dawn that the victim’s house was located in the same lane where party chief, Amir Khan, used to live. He added that the victim was targeted because he used to consort with Mr Khan’s former bodyguard, Asif.

Stray bullet kills man

Pakistan Bazaar police said Taha Siddiqui, 24, was sitting on a hill in Sector 11 ½ of Orangi Town when a stray bullet hit him.

They said the victim, a jobless man, died on the spot and later his body was transported to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

The police registered a case against unknown culprit or culprits on the complaint of the victim’s father, Muzaffar Alam Siddiqui.

Clubbed to death

A young man was found murdered near the coast in Rehrhi Goth in Ibrahim Haidri police area.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre where sources said the victim had received fatal wounds to his head by some blunt weapon.

Police said the body was kept at Edhi’s morgue as the dead man remained unidentified.
