HYDERABAD, April 1: A landlord was kidnapped on Oderolal-Tando Jam link road on Monday night when he was going to Tando Jam after visiting a farm with a friend and driver.

The landlord of Tando Jam, Allah Bux alias Mir Wajid Talpur, his friend Ghulam Shah, and driver Arbab, were going in a car when five armed men who were hiding in a banana orchard suddenly intercepted them on the road near goth Nobat Mari.

They took away the trio but later released Ghulam Shah and the driver at a few kilometres away.

The released men informed the police about the kidnapping of the landlord.

The police laid siege to the area and searched vehicles but in vain.

A police party led by Oderolal SPO Ali Ahmed Jamali has reportedly gone after the kidnappers.

Meanwhile, the car of the kidnapped landlord which found abandoned in Hala town has been taken into possession by Matiari police.

COLLEGE SEALED: The district administration of Tando Allahyar on public complaints, sealed off a homeopathic medical college on Monday and detained its owner who was later released on personal bond.

Tando Allahyar DCO Dr Mohammad Farooq Laghari ordered DDO revenue Abdul Aziz Barlas to take action against the Jehangir Medical College in Al-Madad town which was reportedly functioning without any legal authority and qualified teachers.

The DCO raided the college along with other officials and sealed it off and took into custody its founder Dr Jehangir.

Dr Jehangir was unable to produce any authorisation for running the college. He was, however, released on personal bond later in the night. No case has so far been registered.
