MINGORA, Feb 16: Two civilians were killed and 14 others injured when a suicide bomber rammed a car into an army media centre and base near Gul Kadda here on Saturday.

An army officer told Dawn that the army base was the main target where a unit of the army was stationed. It was adjacent to the building of the media centre.

DPO Waqif Khan said that two civilians, one identified as Javed, had been killed and 14 others, including regional information officer Salim Khan and an assistant sub-inspector, injured. The bomber was also killed.

The injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in Saidu Sharif.

Security forces and police cordoned off the area and started investigation.
