BAHAWALPUR, Jan 31: Over two dozen female passengers of Karachi-bound Karakoram

Express were looted by an armed dacoit between Bahawlpur and Samma Satta on Wednesday night.

Railway police sources said an armed dacoit managed to board the coach of female passengers probably from Bahawalpur. He deprived women of their jewellery and cash.

Samma Satta railway police SHO Rana Iqbal confirmed the dacoity. He said the Khanpur railway police SHO had boarded the train from there to record the statements of looted passengers.

Accorsing to our Rahim Yar Khan correspondent, the train was halted by railway police at Khanpur in a bid to catch the dacoit. But it learnt that unknown culprit had alighted at Samma Satta where the train had to slow down to negotiate curves in the tracks. Agitated passengers reportedly lodged a strong protest at the Khanpur railway station which delayed the train further.
