QUETTA, Jan 13: Two people were injured when an unidentified man lobbed a grenade into a bakery in Mastung while, in a separate incident, saboteurs blew up railway tack linking Quetta with Iran on Sunday.

Police sources said that the bakery owner and a young customer were injured in the grenade attack on Makka Bakery in Mastung Bazaar at around 8.45am.

The police reached the site soon after the attack and took the injured to the civil hospital Mastung. The condition of the bakery owner, Haji Nazir, is said to be serious. The bakery was destroyed in the incident.

Meanwhile, saboteurs planted an explosive device under the railway track linking Quetta with Iran and blew it up early on Sunday suspending traffic between Quetta and Iran.

“A portion of tracks measuring around four feet was blown up,” officials said, adding that railway engineers had started repairing the track and traffic would be restored by Monday morning.
