RAWALPINDI, Nov 25: Security agencies investigating Saturday’s suicide bombings raided a house in the city’s Banni area on Saturday night and arrested two people suspected to be linked to an outlawed religious group. They also seized a computer and some other material.

The investigators traced the engine number of the explosives-laden car which was rammed into a checkpoint by the suicide bomber. They have been trying to know the history of the car’s ownership.

Meanwhile, Khalid Naik who had been injured in the attack on the checkpoint died in the military hospital on Sunday. Seventeen of the 35 injured people are still in different hospitals.

A senior police official said police had been patrolling the area around the Hamza Camp near Faizabad for some time but they had been asked a few days ago to withdraw.

Two separate FIRs relating to the blasts have been registered, according to police sources.

In the light of intelligence reports that terrorists might target an under-construction multi-storey building in the Police Lines area, security has been tightened at the place.

Police have been asked to build bunkers outside police stations and deploy security personnel on rooftops of sensitive buildings.
