3 killed, 9 troops hurt

MIRAMSHAH, Sept 29: Three tribesmen were killed and 17 other people, including nine soldiers, were wounded in exchange of fire between militants and security forces in the troubled North Waziristan on Friday night.

According to sources, militants fired at least 30 rockets on a forces’ camp in Mirali, wounding nine security personnel. Two of them were stated to be in critical condition.

The security personnel retaliated with a barrage of rockets some of which hit houses in Madakhel, Esokhel and Mosaki and Mirali bazaar, killing three tribesmen and injuring two others, local people said.

In the Paeekhel village on Dattakhel road on Saturday, security forces opened fire on a car when it tried to overtake an army convoy, injuring six people, including a girl and a woman.
