2 brothers killed in tribal clash

SUKKUR, March 10: Two brothers were killed and 10 others including four women were injured in infighting between two groups of the Mirani tribe near Ghauspur, Jacobabad District, on Saturday night.

A group of armed Mirani tribesmen attacked the Baggan Khan Bijarani village, near Ghauspur, Jacobabad District, and opened indiscriminate fire as a result of which two brothers, Ali Haider Mirani and Najmuddin Mirani, were killed on the spot.

After a little while the other group retaliated and a gun battle started which lasted for an hour as a result of which eight people including four women were wounded.

Nobody had been arrested till the filing of this report.

Water rotation: The executive engineer, Ghotki division, has announced rotation programme of irrigation channels from March 12 to 20.

Accordingly, Kasi Wah RD-131 to 107, Sangar minor, Ranwati minor, Mahesro distributary, Bago Daho minor, Lundi Wah, Dingo Wah system, Jari Wah system, Qadirpur system, Jari Wah (old), Mahesro Wah system, Kheraj minor, Kamal Wah system, Pir Wah, Nouraja minor, Baiji minor, Korai distributary, Janib Wah, Rohri-F minor, Sangi minor, Garkino Wah system and Bunch minor will remained closed from March 12 to 16.

The irrigation channels including Maharo Link, Mahesro distributary, Bago Daho minor, Lundi Wah, Dundh minor RD-0 to 31 and direst outlets will remain opened from March 16 to 20.
