PESHAWAR, May 21: Seven trucks were destroyed in a rocket attack by unknown persons at a key border crossing between Pakistan and Afghanistan early on Monday, an official said.

The attack took place about 500 meters inside north-western Pakistan at the Torkham border crossing, a local official said. No casualty was reported.

Authorities were investigating the case.

It was not immediately clear whether the trucks were carrying fuel for the western forces in Afghanistan or not.

The official said that two rockets were fired at around 4am that blew up two oil tankers at a parking lot. The resulting fires then destroyed another five trucks parked nearby. Two other trucks were also damaged.—Bureau
