Punjab-KRL tie ends in draw

KARACHI, April 12: Off-spinner Saeed Ajmal recorded a five-wicket haul for Khan Research Laboratories (KRL) but his team’s game against Punjab ended as a draw on the fourth and final day of the Pentangular Cup League Cricket Championship at the NBP Sports Complex here on Thursday.

Ajmal, who took 2-172 in Punjab's first innings, captured five wickets for 66 in 24 overs as Punjab posted 208-8 in their second innings when the match was called off early with no chance of a result.

Punjab skipper Misbah-ul-Haq top-scored with 62 which included six fours. Zulqarnain Haider made 43 and Bilal Khilji got 41.

Pakistan players Mohammad Hafeez (2) and Imran Nazir (14) went cheaply.
