KARAK, Feb 22: The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has approved provision of natural gas to 58 villages in the Karak district.
Speaking at a press conference here on Thursday, Khattak Qaumi Tehrik president Javed Khattak said that work on the project would start soon.
He said that natural gas would be supplied to 21 villages in Karak tehsil, including Sabirabad, Chanda Khurram, Chughto, Rehmatabad, Surdag, Thordhand, Palosa Sar, Terkhakohi, Mithakhel, Badeenkhel, Turkikhel, Alikehl, Srekhwa, Tabbikhwa, Garr Jawarkhel, Amir Banda, Dabb, Kashmiri Banda, Tappi Karak, Kanda Karak and Mithawala.
Some 22 villages in Takht-i-Nasrati tehsil would get the gas supply.
They are: Takht-i-Nasrati, Chokara, Ahmadabad, Babalkhel, Latamber, Nawazabad, Inzar Banda, Jehangiri, Mianki Sharif, Musakan, Nawaz, Nassari Banda, Khojaki Kalla, Ghulamkhel, Tattarkhel, Mumbatti Kalla, Serki Lawaghar, Bogara, Shah Saleem, Zarkhan Kalla, Khadda Banda and Ghundi Killa.
He said that in Banda Daud Shah tehsil, about 17 villages, including Easak Khumari, Terri, Ahmadi Banda, Banda Daud Shah, Makoori, Jatta Ismailkhel, Bahadarkhel, Mumikhel, Khurram, Shakarkhel, Tottaki, Darishkhel, Hayatabad and Mansoor Garh would get the facility.
Mr Khattak said that 10 more villages would also be included in the project.
