KARACHI, Feb 8: City Nazim Syed Mustafa Kamal laid the foundation stone of a storm- water drain in Gulshan-i-Faisal, Bath Island, on Thursday. The estimated cost of the project is Rs90 million, to be completed within the next three months.

The city nazim, on the occasion, said that during the last monsoons he had spent many nights in the area and knew about the problems of the residents.

He said that his aim was to solve these problems on a permanent basis so that the people would not face them again.

He said the project was based on a survey carried out thoroughly in the area to find a sustainable solution to this long-standing problem, which was not given proper attention in the past.—A Reporter
