Published January 28, 2007

KARACHI, Jan 27: Jamaat-i-Islami on Saturday said it would resist government if blasphemy laws were amended or repealed and launch a countrywide protest if such an exercise was started. Speaking at a meeting at Qaba Auditorium, JI Sindh chief MNA Asadullah Bhutto said the government was organising Basant, mix marathon races, carrying out amendments in Hudood Ordinance just to extend its tenure and please foreigners, but the real issues like unemployment and inflation were being pushed under the rug.
