St Patrick’s clinch title

KARACHI, Jan 25: St Patrick’s School emerged champions in the second Oasys Inter-school cricket tournament after defeating Southshore School ‘A’ by seven wickets in the final at the NBP Sports Complex here on Thursday.

Electing to bat first, Southshore were dismissed for 102 in 24 overs. Off-spinners Taha Mamsa (3-11) and Asif Pervez (2-24) along with slow left-armer Ali Raza (2-13) shared the bowling honours.

Yasir Mushtaq then hit 57 with seven fours as St Patrick’s reached their target of 103 in 20.4 overs. Taha, who was adjudged man-of-the-match, scored 26. Yasir was declared player of the tournament.

Prof Sirajul Islam Bukhari, the KCCA honorary secretary, was the chief guest on the occasion.
