MIRAMSHAH, Jan 24: At least 10 mortar shells were fired from across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border which hit Ghulam Khan and Saidgai areas of the North Waziristan Agency on Tuesday night, official sources said.

The sources said militants fired three rockets on a post of the Afghan army near the Pakistani border in Khost province. They said the Afghan army retaliated and as a result 10 mortar shells landed inside the Pakistani territory, causing no casualty.

However, security officials in Peshawar expressed ignorance and said the exact location of shelling had not been identified.
