Dow varsity uplift project approved

ISLAMABAD, Jan 3: The Central Development Working Party has approved a project of the Higher Education Commission to upgrade and modernise the existing laboratories and libraries at the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi.

The project envisages rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the existing laboratories and libraries which will help students in improving knowledge and skills in their fields.

The project also includes development of human resources by foreign and local training. Five candidates will be sent abroad for PhD in relevant fields, while 13 candidates will be trained locally in FCPS, MD, MSc, MPhil, PhD and as medical technologists. The laboratories will be equipped with latest equipment.

Libraries at the university will be upgraded by provision of latest editions of books and journals. Civil works will include renovation and upgradation of the anatomy, biochemistry and histology laboratories to meet the basic requirement of 4,500 undergraduate and postgraduate students.
