QUETTA, Dec 31: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Mir Mohammad Yousuf has said that Pakistan is a stable and strong country heaving impregnable defence and those elements which want to break it are living in a fool’s paradise.

Speaking to workers of the PML at his residence on the occasion of the centenary of the Muslim League on Sunday, the chief minister said the people of Balochistan had played an important role in the creation of Pakistan and they would not use of indecent language against the country by some elements. “Death sentence should be awarded to elements which are working against the country,” he said.

He said the elements planning to separate Balochistan from Pakistan would fail as the Baloch and Pakhtoon people had rendered great sacrifices for the country.

“These people have not accepted Pakistan from the core of their hearts,” Jam Yousuf said, adding that they would have to admit that Pakistan was an undeniable reality.

He said a few elements were out to weaken the motherland by creating hatred among the people but the masses were aware of these intrigues and they would jointly foil the designs of such forces.

He said those calling themselves nationalists wanted to keep the people of Balochistan backward to protect their personal interests and the Pakistan Muslim League had always opposed such elements and their politics of intolerance, hatred and bias.

“We believe in serving people without any discrimination and consider all the nationalities living in Balochistan of equal status and importance. We want to give the same rights to the settlers in Balochistan which are being enjoyed by the Baloch and Pakhtoons,” he said.

“It is our prime responsibility to maintain the same spirit of brotherhood and fraternity which we had displayed during the freedom movement,” he said.

Jam Yousuf said those who violated the PML rules and discipline would face disciplinary action.

He thanked President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz for taking interest in the development and prosperity of Balochistan.

The chief minister said the president would soon visit Khuzdar and Loralai, where he would announce development packages.

Jam Yousuf said the provincial government was utilising all available resources to ensure peace in the province and no compromise would be made in this regard.
