KARACHI, Dec 23: The DAWN Group of Newspapers is organizing a five-day exhibition of art and photography in the Mohatta Palace Museum from January 15 in order to provide assistance to the victims of the October 8, 2005 earthquake and to help in their rehabilitation.

As many as 40 to 50 photographs would be on display and all proceeds from the sale of the artworks would go to the relief fund for the earthquake victims.

The DAWN Group of Newspapers has invited H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Muhammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum to exhibit her works of photography in this exhibition.

Also participating in the exhibition is Ms Uschi Schmitt Ladanyi, who was born in Germany, Bavaria, and graduated from the Munich U5 Academy in Art, Graphic Design and Photography. She combines modern technology from her photographic skills with her artist background and proficient in both fields.

The exhibition will also display bronze sculptures by the German artist Karen LaKar. She specializes in bronze and aluminium sculptures in the form of plants and uniformed into abstract and natural shapes.—PPI
