KARACHI: Bandits beaten to death

KARACHI, Oct 16: Two bandits who were fleeing after snatching cash were beaten to death by enraged people in New Karachi Industrial Area on Monday.

Apprising about the incident, TPO New Karachi SP Khurram Shahzad said two armed suspects intercepted a man who was heading towards a bank to deposit cash.

The bandits snatched Rs100,000 from the complainant and attempted to flee, a police constable who had witnessed the incident fired some aerial shots, after raising an alarm.

However, suspects were apprehended by the area people who gave them a sever beating.

The two suspects who could not be immediately identified were handed to the police by the mob in a precarious condition.

Police shifted them to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, but they died due to severe beating.

“Snatched cash and pistol were also recovered from their possession, SP Khurram said.

ACCIDENT: A woman was crushed to death beneath a lorry in Malir on Monday.

Police said Nasreen Fatima, 45, was crossing road in front of the Malir Courts with her son on a motorcycle.

According to a duty officer of the Malir City police station, the deceased had actually lost her balance and fell from the motorcycle.

ROBBED: A man was robbed of Rs 50,000 in North Nazimabad on Monday.

According to Mr Sohail, he had withdrawn cash from the UBL Block N, branch in North Nazimabad.

Mr Sohail had hardly walked 10 steps from the branch when four armed men on two motorcycles intercepted him and asked to him hand over Rs50,000 at gunpoint, subsequently he handed over cash.

A man was robbed of Rs 800,000 on main Sharae Faisal.

Usman, an employee of a cargo company was carrying the cash in his car. At New Kashif Centre, he was intercepted by two suspects who deprived him of cash at gunpoint and fled.

The complainant went to the Frere police station to lodge the FIR but failed.
