Some officials of the taluka council requesting anonymity told Dawn that the sewerage line and water supply lines had get linked at various places due to which drinking water had become contaminated.

The residents demanded that the taluka council authorities should take notice of the supply of contaminated water to citizens and adopt measures to supply filtered water to inmates to save them from water related ailments.

Almost all the main roads and streets often remain accumulated with sewerage water causing hardships to the people especially women and children.

The residents told this correspondent that the sanitation staff of the taluka council was not performing duties and working at residences of officers of the taluka council and other high ups.
