Zulqarnain elected AJK president

MUZAFFARABAD, July 27: Raja Zulqarnain Khan of the ruling Muslim Conference on Thursday won the presidential election in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, beating his rival Sardar Qamaruz Zaman of the People’s Party by 32 votes.

AJK Chief Election Commissioner Justice Reaz Akhtar Chaudhry, who was returning officer for the presidential polls, announced the result in the AJK Legislative Assembly building.

Raja Zulqarnain Khan secured 40 votes against 8 bagged by his rival.
