Saudi king holds talks with Iran

JEDDAH, July 15: Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah held talks with Iran’s top national security official Ali Larijani on Saturday, expected to focus on Israeli offensive in Lebanon and Palestinian territories.

Mr Larijani delivered a letter from Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad to King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, the SPA official news agency said, without disclosing its content.

Iranian state television earlier reported that Mr Larijani would discuss the situation in Palestine and Lebanon with Saudi officials.—AFP
