Published May 25, 2006

KARACHI, May 24: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has accused Jamaat-i-Islami activists of attacking its offices in Gujranwala and Sialkot.

According to a statement issued by the MQM on Wednesday night, assailants armed with sophisticated weapons attacked its Gujranwala office on Wednesday. “They ransacked the office and manhandled MQM workers,” says the statement.

The MQM office in Sialkot was attacked in the same manner on Tuesday and the attackers said the MQM must close its offices across Punjab, it added.

Our Gujranwala correspondent adds: The Sabzi Mandi police, Gujranwala, registered an FIR against some IJT workers on the complaint of MQM.
