Yasin Malik arrested

NEW DELHI, April 14: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chairman Mohammad Yasin Malik and six of his associates were detained on Friday while going to Baramulla for an election boycott campaign.

Mr Malik, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mohammad Yasin Bhat, Javid Ahmed Zarger, Fayaz Ahmad Sheikh and others were taken into preventive custody by police at Mirgund when they were on way to Kreeri area, sources said.

By-elections are to be held in Pattan, Sangrama and Rafiabad in Baramulla district and Bhaderwah in Jammu division on April 24.—APP
