KARACHI, March 23: The Board of Secondary Education Karachi has released the schedule of SSC Part-II (Class X) annual examinations 2006, commencing on April 18. According to BSE sources, about 175,000 regular and private candidates have been registered for Science and General groups’ examinations.

The board will start handing over the admit cards of candidates concerned to their respective secondary schools from April 3, added the source.

According to a notification, examinations for regular and private candidates of the General group will be held in the morning shift from 9am to 12noon, while those of the Science group will be held from 2pm to 5 pm.

The notification added that there will be English (Compulsory) Paper I for Class X of Science group and English (Compulsory) Paper II for General group on April 18.

The exams of the Science and General groups will conclude on May 5.

According to schedule, there will be no paper on Fridays and Sundays for the Science group, while papers for the General group would be held on Fridays as well.

Another notification said that admit cards pertaining to SSC Part-II examination (Science and General groups) for school students will be given as per the following schedule.

Schools located in New Karachi, North Nazimabad, Gulberg and Liaquatabad towns will get them on April 3; those in Keamari, SITE, Baldia and Orangi towns on April 4; of Lyari and Saddar towns on April 5; and of Jamshed, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Shah Faisal, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Bin Qasim and Gadap towns April 6.

The board has asked the heads of recognized secondary schools to send their representatives with authority letters to collect the cards on the given dates from the BSE Conference Hall from 9.30am to 4pm.

The admit cards of Secondry School Certificate Part-II General Group (Private) candidates have already been despatched on their residential addresses, added the notification.
