KARACHI, Jan 4: The Rector of the Binoria University International has stated that after the incidents of 9/11 and 7/7, madressahs, in general, and foreign students, in particular, have been targeted and harassed by the government.

This was stated by Mufti Mohammad Naeem on the occasion of visit by the representative of the Mercy Corps, a US and UK-based NGO, Cassandra Nelson, who recently converted to Islam and changed her name to Zahra. She visited different departments of the university and talked to foreign students, in particular.

While replying to different queries by the visitor, the rector of the Binoria University said that religious schools also impart science and modern education. But stress is laid on religious education.

He rejected the impression that foreign students are responsible for bomb blasts.

He pointed out that none of the foreign students are involved in any sort of criminal activities, and no case is pending against them in any court of law.

Mufti Naeem said that if the the institutions imparting secular education are handed over to madressahs, their moral standard could be improved.

He said that we have communicated to the government that we will not expel the foreign students at any condition and would defend them at all cost.
