KARACHI, Dec 21: The government is making efforts to bring about improvements in the national education system. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Women Development, Dr Saeeda Malik.

She was speaking as chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the annual talent show at the Baharia College, Karsaz Auditorium here on Wednesday.

The minister pointed out that special attention was being paid towards girls’ education as according to her imparting education to a girl was like educating an entire family.

On the occasion, students of the college presented tableaus, which were very much appreciated by the audience.

Dr Malik announced a cash prize of Rs20,000, in order to encourage the students.

Speaking on the occasion, the college principal, Captain Talib Hussain said that the institution’s result in the year 2004-05 remained at 100 per cent.

He said that the students had also performed well in various sports competitions and won medals and trophies.—APP
