QUETTA, Dec 16: PPP-P Balochistan President Nawabzada Lashkari Khan Raisani has criticized the policies of President Musharraf about Waziristan, Gilgit and Balochistan. He also opposed any decision on Kalabagh dam construction without creating consensus. Speaking at a press conference at the press club on Friday, he claimed that Pakistan was confronted with serious crisis and only real political leadership that enjoyed the backing of the people could get the country out of imbroglio.

On this occasion the chief of Pirkani tribe Sardar Abdullah Pirkani announced to join the PPP-P.

Nawabzada Raisani said that denial of the political and democratic rights and extra-constitutional methods would not only destabilize the political system but would pave the way for anarchy.

He criticized President Musharraf for raising the Kalabagh dam issue at this critical moment when the country faced numerous other problems specially violence in Waziristan, Gilgit and Balochistan.

Mr Raisani claimed that Kalabagh dam issue had divided the nation and warned that execution of the controversial dam would put the nation’s integrity at stake.

Replying a question he said that PPP government in the past only allocated funds for the feasibility of the Kalabagh dam wherein the party leadership had never supported its construction that was unacceptable to three provinces. He said consensus on this issue could be developed when real political leadership that was in abroad was allowed to play their political role in the country’s politics.
