KARACHI, Dec 12: Seven vessels carrying chemicals and urea and to load rice are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Both activity and single-session cargo handling set a new record at 14 ships and 0.232m tons, comprising 41,359 tons of export tonnage, including 13,061 tons of rice and 1,500 tons of cement and 0.190m tons of import cargo, which also include 25,251 tons of fertilizer, 13,591 tons of iron scrap and 20,826 tons of coal.

Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where nine ships were berthed. They are: Sunny Falcon, with sugar, Swat, to unload crude oil, Federal Kushiro, to unload iron scrap, Kota Tabha and Bunga Delima, to unload and load containers, D.D. Vigor and Pacific Hope, to offload DAP fertilizer, OBS Glory, to load cement, and Al-Marwah, to offload oil.

Sailing was large as over a dozen vessels departed, including Ville de Mars, Sagamore, ContiEsperance, PONL Buenos Aires, Kota Tabah, Sondos, Al-Fatah, Ocean Flourish, Asian Excelsior, Shalamar, Bunga Delima, Swat, Zhong Hai and Al-Mamoori-2 departed on Monday.

Nine ships — Sapanca, Sinar Bontang, Iran Jahanara, Kota Mesra, Iran Mahallati, Rickmers New Orleans, Dong He, Xiang Rui Men and Annemieke — are due to sail out on Tuesday.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Stolt Violet, with chemicals, APL Dalian, Thor Captain, Kuo Hung, with containers, Zong Shan Men, Great Mary, with 22,500 and 28,821 tons of urea, and Eleonora, to load 16,000 tons of rice.
