KARACHI, Dec 11: Opener Imran Farhat smashed a career-best 242 and skipper Hasan Raza blasted 178 as Habib Bank piled up a mammoth 663 for eight in their first innings against PIA on the second day of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I cricket championship tie at UBL Sports Complex on Sunday.

Imran added exactly 100 runs to his overnight score of 142 before he was caught at mid-off by Ghulam Ali off Test paceman Umar Gul. The left-hander batted for 563 minutes, faced 402 balls and struck 25 fours and one six.

Hasan, who was involved in a third-wicket partnership of 361 in six hours and 25 minutes, was trapped leg before by medium-pacer Kamran Sajid just after tea for 178. He faced 303 deliveries in his 411-minute vigil at the crease and hit 15 fours and two sixes.

Humayun, former Test wicket-keeper and Imran’s older brother, weighed in with a robust 71 off 66 balls with the aid of six boundaries.
