Polo: Aamir slams winner

LAHORE, Dec 5: A four-goal rally in the fourth chukker steered Colony Textile to a 5-4 win over Tri Star on the opening day of Guard Rice Cup polo tournament on Monday. Tri Star were leading 4-1 at the end of the third chukker. But Colony roared back in the match scoring four goals in the final chukker to change defeat into victory.

Hussain Iftikhar and Naveed M Sheikh scored two goals each while Aamir Shahid added one goal for the winners.

For Tri Star Ahmed Ali Tiwana (2), Saeed Aslam Khan (1) and Kamran Nooruddin (1) were the scorers.

Five goals by Asif Tiwana propelled Soneri Bank to 8-3 win against Sherwood. Jawad Ali Malik (2) and Feroze Gulzar (1) were the other scorers.

For the losers, Shahzad Aziz, Azhar Ali and Afzal Mahr scored a goal each.

Seven goals including two hat trick by Junaid Ahmad helped Adisseo crushed Jeuni 11-5 1/2. Abdul Haye Mehta (3) and Tariq Hashim (1) were the other scorers.

For the losers, who had one and a half goal handicap, Raja Amer Khan (3) and Ali Riaz (1) reduced the margin.
