Flyover in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, Nov 18: A sum of Rs360 million is being spent on the construction of a flyover at Abbasia Chowk between Ahmadpur East and Dera Nawab Sahib, about 50 kilometres from here, and a grid station at Uch Sharif. This was stated by federal parliamentary secretary Makhdoom Ali Hasan Gilani here on Friday while talking to a delegation from his constituency. The Makhdoom said each project would cost Rs180 million.

He said the work on the grid station would complete by next month while the flyover would be completed next year.

TWO KILLED: Two people, including a police constable and girl, were killed separate incidents here on Friday.

Constable Muhammad Younas, a member of Eagle squad, was killed after falling from his motorcycle on Fatowali Road here.

The one-year-old Saira was killed when the rifle of one her relatives went off accidentally. She was brought to the BVH where she died soon after arrival.

SCHOOLS: Furniture worth Rs20 million will be provided to 344 primary schools in the district under the chief minister “missing facility programme.” — Correspondent
