LONDON, Oct 22: Three men in their 20s arrested during investigations into international terrorism were being questioned on Saturday in a London police station, police said.

A statement from the London police headquarters said the arrests were not linked to the July 7 attacks on the British capital’s transport system which killed 52 people.

Two men were arrested around 10:00pm on Friday in Chatham, southeast England and in Shepherd’s Bush, west London, Scotland Yard said. A third was arrested when he went voluntarily to a London police station earlier Saturday.

“All three men, aged in their early twenties, are detained on suspicion of the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under the Terrorism Act 2000,” the statement said.

“The men arrested have all been taken to a central London police station to be interviewed by detectives from the Anti-Terrorist Branch.”—AFP
