KARACHI, July 30: Yousuf Khalfan and Hashim Ghanim struck twice to give Oman fine start with a 6-5 victory over National Club in a friendly hockey match at Hockey Club of Pakistan on Saturday. Khalfan was on target in the 12th minute and got his double two minutes later before National reduced margin through Navid Shafi in the 22nd minute and restored parity with a Kamran Ashraf strike three minutes before halftime.

Oman were again ahead when Amjad Sidiq found the cage two minutes into the second half. Iftikhar put the game on even keel when he netted for National in the 45th minute. Ghanim rattled National with back-to-back strikes in the 46th minute and 53rd minute, while Samir Haliyas slammed home the sixth two minutes later. National recovered but it was too late, Allay Hassan goal in the 60th minute and Navid Shafi effort in the 66th minute going in vain as the visitors walked away victors.
