HYDERABAD, July 14: The director of the Sindh animal husbandry, Dr Sarwar Shaikh, has said a state of emergency has been declared at all veterinary hospitals and dispensaries of the province in the wake of heavy flood and rains. He said all technical and para-technical staff had been put on the high alert to face any emergency. He said an emergency cell having telephone number of 0221-9200966 had been established at the directorate of animal husbandry to monitor activities of the veterinary aid.

Mr Shaikh said all necessary medicines and vaccines had been provided to district officers of the livestock department to facilitate the cattle owners.

He asked the owners to keep the livestock at higher places in dry sheds and to avoid marshy, unhygienic places and get their cattle vaccinated against spread of contagious diseases during the monsoon season.

ARMY RECRUITMENT: The army selection and recruitment centre has announced that a mobile team of the centre will carry out registration for enrolment in the Pakistan Army at the Samaro town committee on July 22. The candidates have been asked to bring their original certificates while reporting to the mobile team for registration at the above date, time and place.

CONDOLENCES: The Anjuman Akhbar-i-Faroshan Hyderabad has expressed profound sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Begum Almas Haroon.

At a meeting of the organization here on Thursday, heartfelt condolences were expressed to the Haroon family on her demise. Syed Abdul Rauf presided over the meeting.

LUMHS: The controller of examinations of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has announced the results of final professional MBBS (old course) bi-annual examinations of the LUMHS, Chandka Medical College, Larkana, and the People?s Medical College for Girls, Nawabshah.

The controller also announced the results of examinations of postgraduate diploma in psychiatric medicine, part I and II, diploma in dermatology and diploma in medical radio diagnosis.

RESULT: The University of Sindh on Wednesday announced the results of B.Sc-II examinations.

SPSC: The Sindh Public Services Hyderabad has announced names of eligible candidates who were interviewed by the commission in Karachi and Hyderabad for posts of deputy director/subject specialist, English and Sindhi, at the Bureau of Curriculum and Extension Wing, Jamshoro.

The commission recommended the name of Mohammad Idrees, son of Mohammad Hassan Jatoi, for appointment against the post of deputy director/subject specialist, Sindhi. No candidate was found fit for the post of deputy director/subject specialist, English.
