DADU, May 7: Alliance for Restoration of Democracy president Makhdoom Amin Fahim has said a campaign will be launched against the government after a meeting of ARD component parties in a week. He said a detailed schedule of the campaign would be announced after the meeting.

He was talking to journalists at the residence of People’s Party Parliamentarians MNA Rafiq Ahmad Jamali here on Saturday where he had come to condole the death of the father of the MNA, Sardar Mohammad Bux Jamali.

Mr Fahim said the government should pay royalty of oil, gas and other resources to the provinces, which was their right.

He said the federal government should ensure basic rights to the provinces which was the only solution to confrontation among the provinces.

He said a delegation of the ARD that visited Dera Bugti witnessed that security forces were having the Otaq of Nawab Akbar Bugti at their target. He said innocent people had been killed in Balochistan.

The ARD leader observed that there was a strong feeling that the rulers were trying to break the country to prolong their rule.

He called for restoration of the 1973 Constitution.

Mr Fahim said the government had created more districts in Sindh to get favourite people elected in the local bodies’ election.

He alleged that the government had made a plan to rig the polls by appointing administrators. However, he said, with the support of people, the PPP would foil such efforts.

He said the PPP had not made any deal with President Gen Pervez Musharraf.

He said the general election should be held in 2005.
