MUZAFFARABAD, Jan 6: India and Pakistan exchanged fire along the Line of Control in Kashmir overnight Saturday, but no tangible losses were reported from anywhere in Azad Kashmir.

Police sources told Dawn that Indian forces targeted almost all sectors of Azad Kashmir on Saturday night using machineguns, mortars and artillery. Intermittent shelling continued in some areas on Sunday as well, they added.

In Pando and Chamb sectors in southeast of Muzaffarabad, Indian troops resorted to heavy artillery shelling late night which continued for some hours, sources said, adding that Pakistan army gave “adequate response to unprovoked Indian aggression.”

VEHICLE HIT: Two government employees were injured when their vehicle came under Indian firing from across the Line of Control in Neelum valley on Sunday night, official sources said.
