30 religious activists arrested

DADU, Jan 4: The district police, Dadu, conducted raids and arrested 30 activists belonging to the Lashkar-i-Taiba, the Sipah-i-Sahaba, and the Tehrik-i-Jafria on Thursday night.

The district chief of the Sipah-i-Sahaba, M. Ayub Chandio, was arrested along with five other activists from his house in Dadu town.

The Dadu town police and other law enforcing agencies are interrogating them at the Dadu town police station.

The DSP, Dadu, along with a heavy police contingent raided the houses of the district chief of the Tehrik-i-Jafria, M. Ashraf Sakhirani, and other activists in Dadu Taluka and arrested them.

Several activists of the Lashkar-i-Taiba were also arrested.

SIX HURT IN CLASH: Six people were injured in an armed clash between two groups over distribution of a piece of land in Rakhio Jamali village, Johi Taluka, on Friday.
