SIALKOT, Jan 2: The bomb disposal squad on Wednesday defused two anti-tank landmines in border village Saddarpura of the Bajwat sector near the Sialkot working boundary.

According to official sources, the Indian-made landmines, weighing 10kg each, had been planted in a thoroughfare of the village.

Meanwhile, as many as 14 cattle were killed and over 25 houses damaged due to heavy mortar shelling by India on border villages in Chhumb, Joriyaan, Bajwat, Sucheetgarh and Shakargarh sectors late on Tuesday night.

The Indian security forces fired more than 23 mortar shells on border villages which have already been evacuated.

The Indian troops on Wednesday continued shelling on Pakistani border villages in almost all the sectors of the working boundary.

The sources claimed that two Indian posts were destroyed by the Chenab Rangers during retaliation near Akhnoor and Shakargarh sectors.

Meanwhile, the district government has clamped a night curfew on all the border villages along the working boundary.
