RAWALPINDI, Dec 19: Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Pervez Ali Shah on Friday awarded death on two counts and a fine of Rs200,000 to a person in a double-murder case.

The convict, Liaquat, had killed a man and his son over water supply timings in Ganjmandi.

The fine would go as compensation to the bereaved family, the court observed in its decision.

The prosecution contended that Liaquat had killed Sadiq and his son Sajid. The convict and the deceased were living in two different portions of the same building and they had brawled over use of water suction pump installed in the same building. Khurshida Bibi, Sadiq’s widow, was complainant in the case.

Meanwhile, Special Judicial Magistrate Akram Bathi imposed Rs4,000 fine on the owner of Chaman Ice Cream for selling substandard ice cream.
