QUETTA, Dec 10: President Gen Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday rejected the allegations that Taliban or Al Qaeda elements were reuniting in the country and reiterated that Pakistan would not allow its soil to be used for terrorist activities.

Speaking to Quetta Garrison officers, students and faculty members at the Command and Staff College, he said peace and stability in Afghanistan would help a lot in the reconstruction of the country, to which Pakistan extended its full support.

He said it was essential that all disputes with India, including Kashmir, were resolved and added that the first step towards the improvement of the relations had been taken.

The president claimed that the country was on sound footing economically and militarily.

“The economic situation has significantly improved,” he said.
