ISLAMABAD, Dec 3: Foreign office spokesman Masood Khan said on Wednesday said Pakistan would agree to hold talks on maritime security agencies cooperation between Pakistan and India after some deliberations.
Commenting on an Indian suggestion, he said, it was actually a Pakistani suggestion and in principle cooperation between both Pakistani maritime security agencies and Indian coast guards could be useful.
It would mitigate sufferings of the fishermen of both the countries, he said.
Terming the occasional arrests of fisherman of both countries for violating sea borders a human problem, he said both countries must solve this issue.
“It was our strongest desire that all countries, including India, help us to achieve a lasting peace in the region,” he told a private TV channel.—APP
